Calgary English Springer Spaniel Club is one of the oldest spaniel clubs in Canada, formed in 1969. Our

organization holds at least 2 field trials  per year, including hosting Canadian National Championships

in 1994, 2002, 2010, 2017 and Canadian Amateur Championship in 2014.

The trial site is approximately an hour southeast of Calgary.

Camping is available on site. Neighboring towns of Milo, Vulcan, High River and Okotoks have hotel

accommodations accepting of pets.

2022 Canadian National Open Spaniel Championship will be run in accordance with the Canadian

Kennel Club Sporting Spaniel Field Trial Rules and Regulations Effective July 1, 2021;

Will provide trial grounds where handlers will be able to showcase their dogs;

Will provide judges with the opportunity to evaluate dogs in a variety of terrain and cover;

Will provide spectators the opportunity to view all competitors and their dogs in each series of the field

trial;

Will have meals available for the duration of the Championship, at minimal charge;

Will provide trial information and updates via the Calgary English Springer Spaniel Website, Facebook,

Dogshow.ca, CNSFTA & CKC;

Will provide a hard copy of the trial catalogue to entrants and limited copies will also be available to

spectators for a small fee.

Will provide portable toilets as required;

Parking is available at the trial grounds;

Will be a venue provided for the CNSFTA Meeting, held on Friday, September 23, with a meet and greet

following;

A dinner will be held on Fri. Sept 23 Milo Hall;

Door prizes and silent auction after dinner.

TRIAL GROUNDS

Our site consists of upland and wetland habitat cover of knee high to thigh high grasses, with ponds

nearby for the water trials.

Birds used for the championship would be a mix of pheasant roosters & hens.

Through experienced mentorship, the Calgary English Springer Spaniel Club strives to refine the natural

abilities of the flushing spaniel breeds by helping handlers reach the full potential of their dogs through

training, field trials or hunting based activities.
